I wasn't sure I would enjoy reading about women who live lives so unlike mine but each of the women grew on me the more I read their stories and once the plot started thickening, I was really enthralled and couldn't put the book down. These are good-hearted characters whose lives are different on the inside than the way they appear to others. Everyone grows and it was interesting to be with them on their journey. A good read.Product details

The Way I've Heard It Should Be Rachel Cullen 9781532967399 Books Reviews
Writes well Uses alternating 1st person narrators to good effect.. Nice sense of the women as friends, despite their significant differences. good feeling of community. Allusions to sexual content.
I have recommended this book to clients in my psychotherapy practice.
This was a good book. I felt that the ending was a bit rushed, but it is a good story about and for women
This book was engaging. While it characters may not be the lifestyle you live there are definitely moments of realistic relating to circumstances and questioning if you would make the same choices.
A very engaging story! I found it hard to put this book down and was disappointed to reach the end. The characters are very well developed and compelling - I think a lot of women (including me) can relate to them. In addition, the author crafted interesting and intricate stor lines that captivated me. I highly recommend this book and am hoping for a sequel . . . . .
It was better than I thought it would be and really sucked me in. It's well written, entertaining, real and at times I felt like I had to turn away from a upcoming train wreck.
I needed a light "beach read" after finishing a very long and intense book. It was so much better than the fluff I was expecting. The 4 women in the book are very well developed by the writer and they take turns narrating the story. Theirs is a story of friendship and struggle; even the wealthy have their problems and sorrows. While the women were generally not particularly likeable, I was captivated until the end. It was a great debut novel for this young author.
The book did hold my attention; I read the whole thing in one day. I liked the way the women's friendships were portrayed. The characters were very likeable (except for Chris!). My only problem with the book is the editing, or lack thereof. Too many misspellings, countless errors in punctuation, run-on sentences, etc. Didn't anyone proofread this book?
